People who sign up now and pay for the 2019-20 financial year will get approximately seven weeks till the end of June free. This offer will remain open until 30th of June 2019 but
obviously the earlier you join the greater the period of free membership. For 2019-20 full year membership ranges from $39 to $77 for Junior students, $407 for Social or Nine hole golfers, $692 for
Intermediate members to $814 for Ordinary members. In addition the club offers a discount of 30% for full pensioners and there are no joining fees.
The club has also initiated initiatives to make it more attractive for families. A member taking up the offer above can then sign up their partner, children, grandchildren, parents or grandparents
and receive a 50% discount on the first year of membership. President, Jim Hagart said “golf is a great family sport where social golf can generally be played at times to suit families and the club
also offers a range of competitions throughout the week. Recently several members have taken up the half price membership in the first year by signing up their children or grandchildren.”
TGC Director of Finance, John Cameron said “the club is in a strong position after investing over half a million dollars over the last decade on new equipment, converting the fairways to Santa Ana
couch grass and items for the clubhouse. We took on some debt to make the improvements and have paid down 20% of that debt over the last year or so. The Santa Ana fairways have survived the drought
well, the greens are exceptional and a $140,000 upgrade of the clubhouse is almost complete providing an enhance venue for members, weddings, wakes and birthday parties”
John said “the club has benefited from the strong support of community minded sponsors, including longstanding and many new sponsors; grants from Latrobe City and the Latrobe Valley Authority; and
the considerable contribution from a large number of volunteers.”
