LOCAL RULES – FEBRUARY 2025

The following rules overrule all rules on the scorecard and/or rules located on the local rules board located at the entrance to the pro shop. These are to be read in conjunction with the Rules of Golf and the 2020 Australasian Tour Hard Card.

Penalty for Breach of Local Rule: TWO STROKES

Out of Bounds.

Beyond any fence bordering the golf course. Beyond any line of white stakes with black tops /and or white lines. This includes the buggy sheds and workshops/sheds area between the 11th & 12th holes. Penalty shot must be taken from where the previous stroke was made.

Penalty Areas

Penalty areas are marked with RED or YELLOW stakes and players should proceed under Rule 17.

Drop Zone 18th hole.

A ball coming to rest on the pathway, practice green, garden bed or sealed carpark MUST be dropped without penalty within the designated drop zone.

TGC Bunker – Lift, Rake & Place: Temporary Rule (13th February 2025)

If your ball comes to rest in any bunker, you may Lift, Rake & Place within 15 cm (6 inches), no nearer the hole.

Immovable Obstruction close to the putting green. (Model rule F-5) Relief from interference of an immovable obstruction may be taken under Rule 16.1. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1 if the obstruction is on the line of play and is within two club-lengths of the putting green and within 2 club lengths of the ball.

Moveable Obstructions. These include hoses, non-fixed sprinklers, steel hoops, protective ropes attached to stakes. Two club lengths relief. (Do not relocate the moveable obstructions)

Temporary Immovable Obstructions. Includes but not limited to advertising signs, sponsors marquees, leaderboards, tents, spectator stands within the boundaries of the course for the purposes of the tournament. Two club lengths relief.

Ground under repair. Includes all areas bounded by white stakes and/or white lines. Turf painted signage, relief available for lie of ball only. All  tree stumps and marked irrigation work including areas ON the fairway where drainage lines are still clearly visible/sunken. Two club length drop without penalty.

Garden Beds & Mulched areas. Only garden beds and tree bases surrounded/covered with MULCH can relief of two club lengths without penalty be taken.

Doubt or Dispute.

In stroke play if a competitor is doubtful of correct procedure during play of a hole they may without penalty complete the hole with 2 balls. Rule 20.1 c (3). The competitor must announce to the marker the intention to play 2 balls and which ball they wish to count for the score. The competitor must report the facts of the situation to the committee even if the same score is recorded for both balls before submitting the scorecard. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Score Card Return. A score card is deemed to be returned as soon as the player submits the card electronically into the system.
